Rome Train Station

Thursday, October 02, 2014

The Martin Street Train Station in Rome has undergone a complete restoration effort and has been completely renovated inside and out.  The station now offers a modern, safe and inviting atmosphere to the approximately 6,400 riders each year.

Recently, city officials and Rotarians celebrated the restoration success and gathered to recognize those responsible. The late Patricia E. Hendrickson, received special praise for her efforts in leading the Rotary station committee in raising $25,000 toward the renovation.  A plaque was placed at the side entrance to honor Hendrickson, her fellow Rotarians and other donors.

The renovation work included repairs to the tunnel, a new platform, windows and roof repairs. Inside, repairs were made to bathrooms and VIP offices.
